Killer Mike Talks Arrest, Marriage Proposal to Taylor Swift on “The Daily Show”

Rapper Killer Mike recently sat down for an interview on “The Daily Show” where he opened up about his experience being arrested at the 2015 Grammy Awards and his unconventional marriage proposal to Taylor Swift.

The Grammy-winning artist, whose real name is Michael Render, recalled the night of his arrest, saying he was “just praying” while in police custody. He was arrested along with fellow rapper and activist T.I. for protesting the fatal police shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri.

“I was just praying, man. I was just praying,” Killer Mike told host Trevor Noah. “I was like, ‘Lord, please don’t let me die in this holding cell. Please don’t let me die in this holding cell.'”

Despite the tense situation, Killer Mike remained calm and collected, even cracking jokes with the officers. “I was like, ‘Man, I’m just trying to get to the after-party. I’m trying to get to the after-party. I’m trying to see Rihanna,'” he joked.

The rapper also shared his thoughts on the current state of the country, particularly in regards to the ongoing protests against police brutality and racial injustice. He emphasized the importance of unity and understanding between different communities.

“We need to understand that we are all in this together. We are all in this together. And we have to start acting like it,” he said.

In a lighter moment, Killer Mike also revealed his unique marriage proposal to pop star Taylor Swift. He explained that he and his wife, Shana, have an open marriage and he jokingly invited Swift to be a “third” in their relationship.

“I’m married to my wife, who is a beautiful black woman. But I also have a crush on Taylor Swift. So, Taylor, if you’re watching, we can make this work. You can be a third in our marriage,” he said with a laugh.

The rapper’s interview on “The Daily Show” received a positive response from fans, with many praising his honesty and humor. Killer Mike has been known for his outspokenness and activism, using his platform to address social and political issues.
