Frank Zappa’s iconic album ‘Apostrophe (‘)’ is set to receive a special box set release in celebration of its 50th anniversary. The record, which was originally released in 1974, is considered to be one of Zappa’s most commercially successful albums, reaching number 10 on the Billboard 200 chart.

The upcoming box set, titled ‘Apostrophe (‘)’ 50th Anniversary Edition, will feature a remastered version of the original album, along with a collection of live recordings, outtakes, and other rare material. The set will also include a booklet with rare photos and new liner notes from Zappa’s former bandmates and collaborators.

‘Apostrophe (‘)’ is widely regarded as a breakthrough album for Zappa, showcasing his unique blend of rock, jazz, and avant-garde music. The album features some of his most well-known songs, including “Don’t Eat the Yellow Snow” and “Cosmik Debris.”

In addition to the original album, the box set will also include a previously unreleased live recording from Zappa’s 1974 tour, featuring performances of songs from ‘Apostrophe (‘)’ as well as other fan favorites. The set will also feature a selection of studio outtakes and alternate versions of songs from the album, giving fans a deeper look into Zappa’s creative process.

Zappa’s son, Ahmet Zappa, who oversees his father’s estate, said in a statement, “This is the ultimate version of ‘Apostrophe (‘)’ and we are so excited to share it with fans. It’s a testament to my dad’s genius and his ability to constantly push the boundaries of music.”

The ‘Apostrophe (‘)’ 50th Anniversary Edition box set is set to be released on September 24th and is available for pre-order now. This release is just one of many upcoming projects from the Zappa estate, as they continue to honor and celebrate the legacy of the late musician.
