After five years of making music together, girl group Boys World has announced their breakup. In an emotional note shared on their social media accounts, the group cited “things out of our control” as the reason for their split.
The group, consisting of members Elana Caceres, Olivia Ruby, Queenie Mae, Lillian Kay, and Makhyli, formed in 2016 and gained a following through their energetic performances and catchy pop songs. They released their debut single “Girlfriends” in 2020 and followed it up with their EP, While You Were Out, in 2021.
In their note, the group expressed their sadness over the breakup but also thanked their fans for their support throughout the years. “Though this may be goodbye for now, our music will always live on and so will our friendship,” they wrote.
The members also shared their individual plans for the future, with some pursuing solo music careers and others focusing on acting and other creative endeavors. They reassured fans that they will continue to support each other and remain friends.
Fans were understandably heartbroken by the news, with many expressing their love and support for the group on social media. The hashtag #BoysWorldForever began trending as fans shared their favorite memories and songs from the group.
While the breakup may come as a surprise to many, the group’s statement emphasized that it was due to circumstances beyond their control. They did not go into further detail about the specific reasons for their split.
Boys World’s music will continue to be available for fans to enjoy, and their impact on the music industry will not be forgotten. We wish the members all the best in their future endeavors and look forward to seeing what they will accomplish individually.
