Manchester’s rising alt-rock outfit Plastic Heart are turning up the volume with their second official single, Hear My Call, landing May 2nd 2025. Following their explosive debut Tension—which surpassed 30k streams and garnered glowing reviews—the band now unveils a track that digs deeper, hits harder, and signals a bold new era in their creative journey.
Hear My Call explores the turbulent aftershocks of a fractured relationship, diving into the emotional push-pull of seeking validation from someone who’s already checked out. Composed by lead vocalist Naomi Schofield, lead guitarist Zak Hadfield, and rhythm guitarist Matt Seddon, and produced by Andy Gannon, the track marks an evolution in both sound and storytelling. Drawing on looser structures, dynamic effects, and layered production, it weaves together the raw grit of alt-rock with an emotionally charged core that showcases the band’s maturity and ambition.
The single also launches a full rebrand for Plastic Heart—new logo, new visuals, and a sharpened identity that mirrors their growing reach and sonic ambition. It’s a bold declaration from a band that’s not just finding its footing, but already stomping across the stage with intent.
Plastic Heart is a five-piece built on powerhouse vocals and a fierce stage presence, with Matthew Seddon (rhythm guitar), Ollie Hand (bass), Rhys Bentley (drums), and the electrifying partnership between Zak and Naomi forming the heart of their sound. Based in Manchester but quickly gaining traction beyond the North, they’ve doubled their following in just six months and carved out a spot as one of the UK’s most exciting independent rock acts.
Upcoming live shows include:
- 6 May – Stalyfest
- 23 May – Scruff of the Neck NQ Takeover, Peer Hat
- 27 June – Grayston Unity, Halifax
- 26 August – Clarence Park Music Festival, Wakefield
Whether you’re a longtime alt-rock fan or just discovering the band’s raw energy and lyrical bite, Hear My Call is the perfect entry point into Plastic Heart’s expanding sonic universe—fierce, fearless, and impossible to ignore.
