Country singer Cody Johnson calls for unity in wake of recent assassination attempt on Trump

Country singer Cody Johnson calls for unity and denounces hate and violence in his concert following the recent assassination attempt on former President Trump.

Country singer Cody Johnson paused his concert on Saturday night to call for unity and denounce the recent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.

During his performance at the Country Thunder Music Festival in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, Johnson took a moment to address the crowd about the current state of the country.

“I’m tired of the division. I’m tired of people talking about Trump and Biden,” Johnson said. “We need to come together as Americans and stop this hate and violence.”

The singer’s passionate speech came just days after a man attempted to assassinate Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Alexander Alazo, was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Johnson, who has been vocal about his support for Trump in the past, urged the audience to put aside their political differences and focus on what unites them as Americans.

“We may have different beliefs and opinions, but at the end of the day, we are all human beings and we need to treat each other with respect and kindness,” he said.

The country star also expressed his frustration with the constant political discourse and the impact it has on society.

“I don’t want to hear about Trump or Biden anymore. I want to hear about love and unity,” Johnson declared. “We need to stop letting politics divide us and start coming together as a nation.”

The crowd responded with cheers and applause as Johnson continued to spread his message of unity and love.

This is not the first time Johnson has used his platform to speak out about important issues. In 2020, he released the song “Dear Rodeo,” which addresses the mental and emotional toll of leaving behind a career in rodeo. The song resonated with many fans and became a symbol of perseverance and resilience during difficult times.

As the country continues to navigate through a divided political climate, Johnson’s call for unity serves as a reminder that despite our differences, we are all Americans and should strive to come together for the greater good.
