Rapper Cardi B made a powerful speech at a rally for Vice President Kamala Harris in Milwaukee, highlighting the importance of women’s rights and criticizing former President Donald Trump’s policies.
Addressing the crowd, Cardi B questioned whether Trump could be trusted with the economy, stating, “Do we really trust this man with our economy? A man who only cares about making himself rich and cutting taxes for his billionaire friends.”
She went on to emphasize the need for equal rights for women, saying, “People like Donald Trump don’t believe women deserve rights. They don’t believe in equal pay, they don’t believe in reproductive rights, they don’t believe in basic human rights for women.”
Cardi B also praised Harris, the first woman and person of color to hold the position of Vice President, for breaking barriers and inspiring young girls. “We have a woman in the White House, and not just any woman, a woman of color. That is a big deal,” she said.
The rapper also urged the crowd to use their voices and vote in the upcoming elections, stating, “We have the power to change things. We have the power to make our voices heard and make a difference.”
Harris, who joined Cardi B on stage, thanked the rapper for her support and encouraged everyone to continue fighting for equality and justice. “We need leaders like Cardi who are not afraid to speak up and speak truth to power,” she said.
The rally was part of Harris’ “Get Up, Stand Up” tour, which aims to engage and mobilize voters ahead of the 2022 midterm elections. Cardi B’s passionate speech served as a reminder of the importance of using our voices and standing up for what we believe in.
